Despite BERSIH 2.0 Coaliation agreed to move the rally to a Stadium, the police are continuing their crackdown on activities related to the scheduled Saturday rally.

Updates from today:

a) 11 Kajang councillors will be charged at 3pm today in the Kajang Magistrate’s Court, for wearing yellow Bersih 2.0 T-shirts to a council meeting. They will be charged under Section 47 of the Societies Act for ‘publishing propaganda of an unlawful society’.

b) 6 employees of the NGO Empower also going to be charged under Section 47 of Societies Act tomorrow.

c) Another 3 individuals were arrested early this morning for possession of Bersih 2.0 t-shirts. They were arrested at 3am this morning in USJ and are currently being detained in the USJ 8 police station.

d) Roadblocks around Klang Valley causing heavy traffic jam.

As of today, a total 179 people have been arrested and/or ‘detained for questioning’. Six are currently being detained under the Emergency Ordinance (EO), which allows for indefinite detention without trial. ( Suaram Source)

“Article 10 of the federal constitution says that the people have freedom of speech, (can) assembly peacefully without arms, and (have the) right to form (an) association.

The motive of the BN government is attempt to threaten and harrass the people , this is cleary a violation of Article 10.
